I have always been a person with a fair bit of potential – but somehow I feel as if I have consistently fallen short. Most of the fault of that lies with me – stupid decisions, bad choices, heading in the complete wrong direction…I could go on. Sometimes a fluke happens and I get it right – my beautiful Wee One, my job, those near and dear to me…but, for the most part, I tend to miss the mark more than I hit it. Someone once described me as a ‘diamond in the rough’ (sweet misguided soul) – and I have grown to LOVE that expression. I have tremendous affection for those that are also rough diamonds themselves – birds of a feather, I guess, eh? This morning, while passing some time on Etsy, I came across this ring:
Isn’t it stunning? It’s a rough diamond – kinda like me!! – and I loooove it! 🙂 Look at that stone, unpolished and overflowing with potential…just like me!!!!! 😉 Doesn’t the very thought of that bad boy on your hand just fill you with joy???! Yep – me, too. 🙂
Another cool thing that I’ve come across lately is the Chemex Coffee Maker – have you heard of it? I found it on Amazon one day, and was very intrigued – here’s what it looks like:
Kinda cool, eh? It’s very simple – which I love! 🙂 Here’s the product description: Known as a pristine coffeemaker, Chemex employs all of the chemically correct methods for brewing. Its hourglass shaped flask is made entirely of glass, a chemically inert material that does not absorb odors or chemical residues. The Chemex Glass Coffee Maker has no moving parts and will work forever, unless it is dropped or in some other way demolished. Chemex filters are made of the highest quality filter paper.
I was looking for a coffee maker for home – I have been keeping my Keurig at work, and I needed something else to use at home. So I ordered the Chemex (and filters), and let me tell you…I could not be happier!!! The first pot I made was really strong – it would’ve put hair on your chest fo’shizzle!!! The second pot was just right – and I’ve been making great coffee ever since. Yummy!!! 🙂 I’ve been using the bloody amazing Casi Cielo coffee from Starbucks (here for a verrrrrry limited time!), and things have been mighty delish around these parts! 🙂 I know that neither of these products are new at all, but they are new to me – I love discovering new and fun things and sharing those with you. 🙂
What new things are you loving these days? I can’t wait to hear from you!!! 🙂
PS: Let’s make a pact, okay? Instead of apologizing for falling short of our potential, let’s celebrate our diamond in the rough-ness…it’s really not so bad. 🙂 Neither is that ring, eh? Hmmm….shopping time!! 😉
