9 to 5

They say (whoever they are) that when it rains, it pours. If that’s the case, I had best watch out for poodles because its rained cats and puppies yesterday (haha – get it? poodles? rained cats and dogs? never mind…). I got a call mid-morning from one of my interviews from last week offering me the job – yaa! 🙂  It wasn’t my first choice of positions, but I was really happy about it. Finally!!!  The stream of good luck continued when I got word yesterday afternoon that I had been successful in the second interview and was being offered that position, too! YAAAA!!! 🙂  I felt badly about having to decline the first one (since I had heard from them first), but I have accepted the second position, and I feel really great about my decision. I will be staying in my current district (which was a big concern of mine – I didn’t want to leave them because I was reluctant to give up my place on the seniority list), moving to another high school closer to home (wooohooo!!!) and doing something completely different that I KNOW I’m going to love! 🙂 So YAAAAAAA me!!!!  The tides are finally changing! Yaaa!  I can’t wait to get started! 🙂

Now…on to some things that are making me happy today: On Sunday, I went to the nail salon for a couple of relaxing hours of mani/pedi time – I bought a new nail polish color for my toes, and I’m quite madly in love with it. Here’s the bottle below:
China Glaze

It’s called Flip Flop Fantasy by China Glaze, and I LOVE it! 🙂 My toesies look like a summer deck party full of fun – and there’s nothing I love more than happy little piggies! 🙂 Coincidentally, I had somebody new do my nails this week – his name is Ty, and he is located at the Ann’s Nails on Culebra and 1604 here in San Antonio…and he is EXCELLENT! 🙂 If you’re ever in this neighborhood and fancy the best mani/pedi ever, be sure to stop by and see Ty – you’ll love him, too! 🙂

George  Michael and Andrew Ridgeley of Wham! are going to be reuniting!  Yaaaa!!!! 🙂 They most likely won’t be releasing new material or doing any big global tour, but something is in the works to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their first release in 1982. I am so over-the-top excited about this – wooohoo!! I had mad love for Wham! back in the day, and can’t wait to see them again. I SO HOPE they’ll wear some short shorts and do a vigorous dance again….yaa!!! 🙂 (Here’s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go to totally brighten up your day….you’re welcome)

Last week, Jimmy Fallon released an album called “Blow Your Pants Off” featuring him and a bunch of awesome guest artists doing great original songs and parodies. I’ve downloaded it on iTunes and I am loving the album – here’s Jimmy and my beloved Sir Paul McCartney singing “Scrambled Eggs“, the original placeholder lyrics for “Yesterday”. I can’t believe how freaking lucky Jimmy Fallon is – imagine, getting to sing with a Beatle… couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. I love Jimmy! 🙂

And, finally…my list of things to do when I’m in New York next month is rapidly growing (bike riding in Central Park, checking out a show or two, eating cannoli at Veniero’s Pastry Shop, visiting my beloved Macy’s on 34th, chowing down at all of my favorite food places – what up, WoHop and your delicious dumplings??!) – but one place I absolutely can’t miss is a stop at Paper Source on Spring Street. I love love LOVE paper/stationery stores (more than I love most other types of stores, in fact), and I LOVE Paper Source, but sadly we don’t have one here in San Antonio (boo! hiss!). I am currently coveting the papers that you see above, as well as about a million other things from Paper Source – I can’t wait!!!! 🙂

I hope that you’re having a beautiful Wednesday so far – let me defer to Plato for today’s closing words:

Je vous aime, mes amis! 🙂
